Had a trouble call to a house up on the mountain.
A little old lady, in her late 80’s, comes to the door. I asked her what the problem was. She was a widow lady and she tells me that she has been hearing this buzzing sound in her walls for several days. She knows that I am not supposed to go inside but she is afraid that her house will burn down. I went inside and asked her in which room she could hear it best. I go with her to her bedroom. Sure enough, I hear a buzzing. It was coming from her bedroom chest. I ask her if she minds me looking in the drawer. She is okay with it.
Inside the drawer is a smoke detector with a weak battery.
She was sorry… but happy.
